Licensing
License an image
Every photograph on this site is available for editorial and commercial licensing, directly from me — no agency in the middle. You get a full-resolution, unwatermarked file and a licence written for your exact use. All images are © Michael Wilkins, all rights reserved.
Questions, answered
How does licensing work?
Tell me which image, where it will appear, for how long, and at what size or circulation. I quote a per-use fee; on payment you receive a full-resolution, unwatermarked file and a written licence covering exactly that use.
How much does an image licence cost?
It depends entirely on the use — a small editorial web placement is priced very differently from an advertising campaign. Direct licensing has no agency margin, so quotes are competitive with stock rates for far more distinctive work.
Do licensed files have the signature on them?
No — licensed files are delivered clean at full resolution. The signed versions are for the site and prints.
Can I use an image from this site for free with credit?
For personal, non-published use, just ask. For anything published — editorial, social, commercial — a licence is required; credit is appreciated but isn't payment.
