Down the Avenue

She walks this path most mornings. It only looks like this in October.

Late October in the park, the sun still low enough to come straight down the avenue and light every bit of dust and breath in the air. I put her at the far end and walked back — small in frame on purpose, because the picture is really about the tunnel of light and she is the thing that gives it scale. Backlighting a white dog is the wrong way round and exactly why it works: the coat goes to rim-light and she reads as a shape.
