High-key black and white photograph of an old timber mountain hut standing alone in deep snow, its dark roof and walls the only tone against a near-white sky and snowfield.

The Hut

One dark object, and everything else left to go white.

Flat light again, and this time exactly one thing in the frame worth exposing for. I let the snow and sky run together into a single white field and kept only the hut — the timber, the chimney pots, the fence posts — as tone. In colour this is a fairly ordinary picture of a shed. Printed like this, it becomes about how little you need.
