The full sweep from the Mount Cook road after September snow — stitched from telephoto frames into a file almost twenty thousand pixels wide. Aoraki sits at centre with the whole range shouldered around it, the braided flats run out toward Pukaki on the right, and the highway enters at the bottom left with nobody on it. Winter down here means the tussock goes bronze and the mountains do the rest. Shot at f/11 on the 100–400 and stitched wide because one frame was never going to hold this.
