A ski tourer in a red jacket and backpack seen from behind, climbing on skins across a wide, untracked snow field towards the low sun, a single skin track and pole marks stretching back to the camera, a ridge of snow peaks under a deep blue sky.

Skinning Into the Sun

The only track on the whole field.

Behind the tourer for once, so the track is the story: one line across an untouched field, straight at the sun. A phone frame, exposed for the sky, which is why the snow in shadow goes blue and the figure reads as nearly a silhouette. The flare above the sun is the lens. I decided it belonged.
