A gap between two rocks, a strip of low sun coming through it, and a surfer walking into exactly that strip with the board under his arm. Everything else is in shadow on purpose: the boulders, the foreground, most of the headland. The wave breaking behind him is the only other thing the light found. He was not posing. He was walking back over the rocks.
