A lone snowboarder in dark clothing carving down a vast, steep, untracked snow face, a thin line of spray behind the board, a wall of rock and snow rising beside the run and a sharp snow-covered peak against blue sky beyond.

One Rider, One Face

A mountain's worth of snow, and one line down it.

The rider is small on purpose. This is a frame about the face, which runs from the top left corner to the bottom right without a single track on it, and the one person about to change that. The rock wall on the right and the peak beyond give it a sense of how steep it actually is, which the flat light otherwise hides.

Part of The Southern Alps, a series.
