Surf Lines

Tulum, Mexico · December 2020

DJI Mavic Air 2, 5 millimetres, f 2.8, 1/90 of a second, ISO 100

The sea keeps drawing the same lines and never gets them quite the same.

Waves from directly above lose all their drama and gain all their geometry — parallel white lines redrawn every few seconds across the turquoise. I shot a whole battery on just this: the same three lines, never quite the same twice. Somewhere between a seascape and a set of pinstripes.
