Lifeguard Tower, Last Light

Bondi Beach, Sydney · November 2018

The sky did the heavy lifting.

Some evenings Bondi's sky goes to work and everything under it just has to stand still and be included. The lifeguard tower holds the near corner on its stilts; a few people stayed at the waterline, and the gulls settled in for the night shift. The orange lasted minutes. The picture is mostly about knowing when to stop adjusting and shoot.
