Dark sea seen straight down from above, a diagonal line of white water breaking across the frame from the top right, foam spreading in lace patterns over black rock along the bottom and a heavy swell rolling in behind.

The Breaking Line

One line of white, drawn across all of it.

Straight down, no horizon, so the sea becomes a surface rather than a place: a diagonal line of white where the wave breaks, foam spreading out in lace over the black rock at the bottom, and darker water behind waiting its turn. The same idea as White on Black, a few frames along in the set. That one is about the froth. This one is about the line.
