A long exposure of the sea turned to smooth mist around dark green and rust-coloured boulders, with a pier and buildings on the headland beyond under a pink dawn sky.

Minutes of Water

The rocks stay; nothing else does.

Long exposures of water are easy to overdo — push it far enough and the sea stops being a sea and becomes fog. This is about as far as I'll take it: the boulders sharp, the swell reduced to the direction it was travelling, and the colour left where dawn put it.
