A black-and-white view of a snow-covered ridge, its crest broken by dark rock towers, smooth wind-loaded slopes falling away below with faint tracks across them, and a near-black sky filling the top half of the frame.

The Ridge, Reduced

Snow, rock, and a sky gone black.

Pulled hard towards abstraction: the sky darkened to almost black, the snow held just short of white, and the rock towers along the crest left as the only true black in the picture. The slopes below read as folds of fabric. A phone frame, which is the point; the phone was what I had on the ridge, and the ridge did not need more.
