Photograph of the low sun bursting through the branches of a tall dark pine on a ridge, golden cloud above and layered blue mountain ranges receding behind.

Through the Pine

Put something solid in front of the sun and it stops being a blob.

The sun was about ten minutes off the ridge and would have been a featureless white disc on its own, so I moved until a pine was in front of it and let the branches break it up. Stopped well down for the star. Behind, the ranges stack back in progressively lighter blues, which is the part of this landscape I never get tired of.
