A young white lion crouches low in long grass with its tail curled up, face and rounded ears just clear of the stems.

Low in the Grass

Doing its best impression of not being there.

The young ones practise stalking on anything, including vehicles. This one dropped into the long grass and held itself flat, tail curled up like a question mark, convinced it had disappeared. A white lion in green-gold grass has not disappeared. I focused through the stems and let them cross the frame — the hiding is the picture.
