The Brooklyn Bridge's stone tower and cables seen from a snowy Manhattan street, bare winter branches framing the top of the frame, an elevated roadway sweeping across the right, parked cars and a few pedestrians on the pavement in bright winter sun.

The Bridge, From Street Level

Brooklyn Bridge, New York · February 2021

1D X Mark II, 50 millimetres, f 5.6, 1/1000 of a second, ISO 100

Everybody photographs it from the walkway. This is from underneath.

Street level, with the bare trees closing the top of the frame and the ramp of the elevated road cutting across the right. The bridge tower is where it always is; the trick was letting the ordinary stuff stay in: the parked cars, the snowbanks, someone walking. Sharp winter light, and a sky that was almost too blue.
