The Brooklyn Bridge spanning the East River towards the Lower Manhattan skyline on a bright winter day, One World Trade Center at the centre, a carousel pavilion on the Brooklyn shore at left, snow on the ground and russet shrubs in the foreground under a blue sky with big white clouds.

Bridge, Skyline, Snow

Brooklyn Bridge, New York · February 2021

1D X Mark II, 35 millimetres, f 5.6, 1/1000 of a second, ISO 100

The postcard, with snow on it.

The classic view from the Brooklyn side, on a day cold enough that the snow along the riverbank had not gone anywhere. I kept the shrubs and the fence in the bottom of the frame rather than cropping to the skyline, because the winter is the point. The carousel pavilion on the left is the one thing in the frame that is not trying to be tall.
