Photograph of the lower Manhattan skyline seen through the diagonal suspension cables of the Brooklyn Bridge at sunset, buildings in dark silhouette against a deep orange sky.

Through the Web

The cables cut the skyline into panels. Free composition.

Sunset from the middle of the bridge, shooting through the cable web at the Financial District. The diagonals slice the skyline into panels, which is the whole reason to shoot from here rather than from the water — you get a grid laid over the city for nothing. Exposed for the sky so the towers and the ironwork both drop to silhouette and the only thing left is shape.
