Dusk photograph of the village of Oia on Santorini, white cubic houses stacked down the caldera cliff and lit gold from within, the deep blue sea and sky behind.

Oia, Blue Hour

Everyone faces west here. I turned round.

Oia at the moment the sky still has depth in it and every window in the village is already burning. The famous view here faces west into the sunset and there are four hundred people standing in it; this is the other direction, looking back along the caldera at the village itself, which is the more interesting subject anyway — all those white cubes stacked down a cliff with no apparent plan.
