Night photograph of the Sydney Opera House and the lit CBD skyline seen through a narrow gap between two dark foreground buildings, framed by silhouetted walls and a palm.

Between the Buildings

Sydney, Australia · June 2018

Everyone shoots it from the water. This is from a car park.

There is no shortage of clean views of the Opera House and they all look the same. This one is from a gap between two buildings, using the dark walls to close the frame down to a slot with the shells and the towers sitting in it. The foreground is essentially black, which is fine — it is doing structural work, not decorative.
