Two Landmarks

London · February 2018

1D X Mark II, 40 millimetres, f 22, 15 seconds, ISO 400

One of these is nine hundred years old. The other is the famous one.

A K6 box on the corner with Westminster Abbey lit behind it, and a streetlamp stopped down hard into a star between them. The box is Giles Gilbert Scott's 1935 design and there are very few left in daily use; the abbey has been there since 1090. Shot at night because in daylight this corner has three hundred people on it and the box is usually full.
