St Paul's Cathedral seen straight down the empty Millennium Bridge in soft light, its dome and west towers against a pale peach sky, the bridge's steel balustrades converging towards it, a tall residential tower and scaffolded buildings to the right.

St Paul's, Down the Bridge

St Paul's Cathedral, London · April 2022

1D X Mark II, 105 millimetres, f 11, 1/125 of a second, ISO 800

A bridge built to point at a cathedral.

The Millennium Bridge is a straight line aimed at the dome, and with the bridge empty you can stand in the middle of it and have the whole line to yourself. The balustrades do the converging, the sky was a soft peach, and the scaffolding on the right is London being honest about itself. Nothing dramatic in the light, which suited the building.
