Mackerel Sky, Car Park — Landscape Photograph

A sunset sky of orange and pink mackerel cloud over snow-capped mountains, bare winter trees silhouetted against it, a small car with its headlights on in a mountain car park and a crash barrier along the foreground. — Mackerel Sky, Car Park

Not the view from a summit. The view from the car park.

The sky did not care that I was standing in a car park, so this is a photograph from a car park. Rippled cloud lit from underneath, bare trees to hang it on, and the small car with its headlights on stays in the frame because it was there. Sunset in the mountains lasts about as long as it takes to find a better foreground.
