A sepia-toned view of jagged snow-covered alpine peaks under a hazy sky, a plume of cloud streaming off the highest summit, sunlit ridges and shadowed faces stacked back in receding layers, and a bright snow slope in the near foreground.

The Massif, in Sepia

The plume off the summit is the wind.

Toned rather than straight black and white, because the warm cast keeps the snow from going clinical. The interest is in the layering: each ridge a shade lighter than the one in front, until the far peaks are barely darker than the sky. The plume streaming off the highest summit says how hard it was blowing up there. The bright slope in the corner is the nearest ground.
